Valentines Day: Where to go & what to do

People around the world celebrate Valentines day differently but what is most important is you celebrate the day the way you want to and don’t feel pressured by the card companies wanting you to sell your soul for their services.
We’ve research what’s happening in the North East this Valentines day to save you the hard work and stress, here are the top five picks we have for Majestic Man readers…

WINE AND DINE – This goes out to those who love the finer things in life, you want your steak medium-rare with three times cooked rustic chips and your staple peppercorn sauce or go all out and get a sharing platter of Chateaubriand. We would go to either Lola Jeans in Tynemouth or Marco Pierre White Steakhouse in Newcastle.

ROMANTIC NIGHT IN – This is ideal for those working long hours and need to totally zone out off work and just need to kick back but still looks like they’ve made a totally romantic effort, winner. All leading supermarkets are fighting to win you over this Valentines day from Morrisons, selling oysters at ‘rock-bottom’ prices. The supermarket, which has branches dotted across Tyneside in Cowgate, Blaydon, Byker, Killingworth and West Denton, is selling the shellfish for just 25p, rather than the average cost of £1.59. Another leading supermarket is Aldi, selling 100 red roses for £25. Valentines day does not need to cost the earth!

GO ALL OUT – Hotel stay, Dinner and Champagne – If money is no worry, Malmaison Newcastle have created a Valentines day package for you and your loved one. It is total red carpet treatment, including a night in one of the hotels stylish rooms with a bottle of Champagne on arrival, Valentine’s sharing menu or a £60pp allowance towards the a la carte menu, plus a full breakfast. Prices for 14th at the Newcastle branch is £265 but prices vary per hotel.

Sending our love and hope you make it special, Majestic man.
